چکیده

The voice Krlang capacity is analyzed ID a imiliiaotenna combined voice-data CDMA Reverse Link (RL). The influence of two different spatial combining techniques: Optimal Combining (OC) and Maximal Ratio Combining (MRO) on the voice Erlangs is evaluated when a single scheduled High Data Rate (HDR) data channel is shared by users desiring HDR services. The impact of randomly arriving data users on the voice Erlangs is also analyzed. A per rate class rise over thermal metric is defined and used with OC spatial combining. At large HDR values, increases in the voice Erlangs are illustrated when using OC vs. MRC.

Data throughput in a multi-rate CDMA reverse link: comparing optimal spatial combining vs. maximal ratio combining

The Reverse Link (mobile to base station) average data rate carrying capacity of a CDMA communications system is analyzed comparing different antenna array spatial combining algorithms: Optimum Combining (OC) versus Maximal Ratio Combining (MRC) in a multi-user system employing multi-rate traffic (combined voice and data users) over Rayleigh faded channels. Typical CDMA power and interference r...

CDMA reverse link spatial combining gains: optimal vs. MRC in a faded voice-data system having a single dominant high data user

The per user carrier-to-interference ratio (CINR) enhancement in the Reverse Link (mobile to base station) of a CDMA communications system is analyzed using different antenna array spatial combining algorithms: Optimum Combining (OC) versus Maximal Ratio Combining (MRC) in a multi-rate (combined voice and data users) multi-antenna scenario. Many low data voice users and a single dominant high d...

On generalized optimal scheduling of high data-rate bursts in CDMA systems

In a code-division multiple access (CDMA)-based wireless communication system, forward link is power limited and reverse link is interference limited. With power control and statistical multiplexing, voice services can be supported reasonably well. However, for high data-rate services, a more comprehensive scheduling mechanism is needed in order to achieve a high capacity while satisfying the f...

Capacity Expressions for Power-Controlled Multi-Class DS-CDMA Reverse Link with Antenna Diversity and Rake Combining

A DS-CDMAmobile communication system accommodating multi-class users is considered. The number of supportable users depends on the distributions of data rate and required communication quality among users. Simple expressions for the reverse link capacity with transmit power control, antenna diversity, and rake combining, are derived for a single-cell system and a multi-cell system. key words: D...

Effect of Soft and Softer Handoffs on CDMA System Capacity

The effect of soft and softer handoffs on codedivision multiple-access (CDMA) system capacity is evaluated for unsectorized and sectorized hexagonal cells according to an average bit energy-to-interference power spectral density, which corresponds to a bit-error rate (BER) of 10 3. The effect of imperfect sectorization on sectorization efficiency is also considered. On the reverse link, there i...
